The tenant portal
Tenants get a clean, self-serve view of their own tenancy — and nothing else. Cross-tenant access is blocked by architecture.
What tenants see
Their leases and balances, the per-lease ledger, invoice history, and a maintenance-request form with status history. Every resident on the lease — roommates, co-tenants — can log in to the same unit and ledger.
Provisioning logins
Enable a tenant's login from the Tenants list: the system creates the user with a one-time temporary password to hand off. Tenants only ever see records tied to their own tenancy.
Maintenance requests
Requests submitted in the portal land in your work-order queue with the tenant, unit, and description attached — and the tenant can watch the status instead of calling for updates.
Renters insurance
Track each lease's policy — carrier, policy number, coverage, expiry — with expiring and expired flags surfaced to you before a lapse becomes your problem.
What the portal deliberately does not do
The portal shows a resident their own tenancy and nothing else — no other units, no other residents, no portfolio context. Cross-tenant access is blocked at the same account-scope layer that isolates organizations, so it is not a matter of hiding a link. Residents cannot edit the ledger, dispute a charge inline, or change lease terms; those are conversations, and the software's job is to make sure both sides are reading the same record while they have them.
Provisioning and multiple residents
You enable a login from the Tenants list and hand over a one-time temporary password. Every resident named on a lease — co-tenants, roommates, guarantors — can be given access to the same unit and the same ledger. That matters more than it sounds: when three roommates each see one shared balance and one shared payment history, the "I already paid my share" argument resolves itself without you mediating.
Maintenance requests and insurance
Requests submitted in the portal arrive in your work-order queue with the resident, unit, and description attached, and the resident can watch the status rather than calling for updates. Renters-insurance policies are tracked per lease with carrier, policy number, coverage, and expiry, and expiring or lapsed policies are flagged to you — a lapse discovered after a loss is a materially worse conversation than one caught a month early.
